Oh my God!

Science vs religion: watch the fight! Atheism, fundamentalism, scepticism and animism, not forgetting nihilism, mysticism and mountain climbing.

What was it Einstein used to say ... 'God doesn't play dice': determinism is absolute ... even if only in a relative way ... did he actually say such thing?
Church in Bolquere, Cerdagne, France. Anyway what's all the fuzz about God nowadays, in America and Moslem countries mostly? I don't have any problem with her myself, believing she doesn't exist; what does worry me, though, is the congregation of his saints, the living legions of zealots of all creeds ready and eager to take the world apart for the greater glory of their unavowed private phantasms. Help us Freud when Hegel fails?
Yes, I do not believe that God exists; what I do believe is that existence is a much too worldly characteristic to fit an all powerful being standing, or lying, beyond time and space, unwatching and totally aware, principle of all things that will ever be or were. I do not claim total understanding for my various assumptions in daily life but an existence, which doesn't share any materiality with ordinary beings and is nevertheless endowed with actual power and grim humor, is quite beyond my mind.

Nine One One

Did anybody do anything, somewhere, sometime or not? Is anyone doing anything now? For the betterment of democracy, or some bleak nano future?
Did they do it or didn't they? And who, by the way? The towers did fall, the Pentagon was hit ... but what plane crashed if any? The information on what happened on that fateful day being so overwhelming, puzzling and now and then baffling, I didn't read or see it all, which goes almost without saying; what's worse is that I undoubtedly do not understand all the pieces that came my way. I know just about nothing about structural engineering and high-rise demolition techniques do definitely not belong to the list of my hobbies.
On the other hand I don't know that ignorance has ever prevented anybody from uttering absurdities, the more senseless, the louder usually: why not me?

Do we know Noam Chomsky

The first thing that comes to my mind about this famed author is a comment I read somewhere dealing with his "strong logical thinking". I guess the person who wrote this must have read some of his books to so believe;N.Chomsky I didn't read any, therefore I cannot base my own view of that statement on the ground of his writings. To tell you the truth, all I have to build my particular logic from is a few articles on chomsky.info (you bet I didn't read them all) and a lot of videos on the web at large, starting with "Manufacturing Consent: Noam Chomsky and the Media (1992)", all the way to his many recent speeches and interviews, more and more tedious as time goes or so to me it seems anyway. Let's not forget either, whatever the value one is to assign to age - and old age - in these and other matters, that Chomsky was born 1928 and has been an activist for a long time. The "rebel without a pause" has good reason to feel tired.
